Pinterest is a place where people find inspiration in whatever they do! With that said, not many brands are active in this platform, especially in Malaysia. Less brands, means less competition, so if you have a picture that you think people would love and should be seeing, post it up on Pinterest, and who knows? 😉
2. Use Clubhouse!
Clubhouse is the latest trend right now! Even if it only allows IOS users to download, it already has 6 million users and counting! Imagine if Android users start coming in… Crazy. This platform is an audio only platform that encourages interactive, live conversations with anyone, at anytime! You as an F&B business owner, can share your wisdom to aspiring entrepreneurs or interact with your raving fans first hand! It’s like being noticed by your idol at a concert, the adrenaline is crazy! They’ll totally love you more, I guarantee!

Until today, I’m still amazed by the overwhelming creativity in that platform. What I’ve seen people do on Tik tok for their F&B business is film what’s going on behind their kitchen. From cooking to vibing to cleaning and dancing or simply, just showing them your creations. This platform is a safe space to do really anything!
6. Use Hashtags
You’d be surprise how much traffic and views come from hashtags. Use brief words like #restaurant or #food to reach your target audience, and of course, try not to spam too many, or it may look a little desperate. A good amount of hashtags will be 2-8 hashtags, depending on the platform you’re using.
Pro tip: If you have a business account on Instagram, you can see how many people have viewed your post from your hashtags!
7. Go Live!
Did you know every time you go live on FB or Instagram they’ll notify your audience? Ain’t that free visibility and promotion?
To make them stay on your livestream, attract them with live-only deals that are simply irresistible! Encourage them to like and share too! After the livestream, you can even edit out the highlights of the stream and *poof* content generated!
8. Host a Contest / Giveaway
We know, we know.. Everyone’s doing it and you’ll have to fork out some budget for this. But trust me, it’s going to be worth it! Because.. its a great way to encourage user generated content, and spread awareness. Depending on the value of your prize and the rules you set, your campaign can be a successful one! Remember to encourage them to share your post or curate/create their own posts incorporating your brand on their own accounts, and encourage them to tag their friends!
It’s a wonderful way to know more about your brand in their eyes or encourage them to come up with ideas on your business! Try it, and you’ll believe it.
9. Make a Meme
We all love a good laugh, and nothing other than memes can be so simple, yet so humorous! I don’t know about you, but my friends and I share memes like there’s no tomorrow. Hence, it’s a great way to attract people to your page and share your amazing content! Make it as relatable, up-to-date, trendy and creative as possible!
10. Tell a Good Story
We all love listening to a good story. The more dramatic, the better! Hence, use social media, create a short video or a series of photo to make your story be heard! A good story means moving your audience through their senses, play with their emotions, make it sad, happy, make them rage. Just go all out!
11. Collaborate with Other Brands
Two (or more) is always better than one. Collaborate with another brand that compliments yours! They’ll share your collaborative content, and you’ll share theirs; their followers see your brand and yours see theirs. This is a total win-win situation. In short, forming allies is vital, in dominating your industry 😉
12. Share Behind the Scenes Photo/Video
I love watching bloopers, because its so silly and authentic. If you have some clips of the bloopers, don’t be afraid to post it! Be bold, be yourself!

YouTube’s algorithm works through search. So with you search “food” then your home page will be filled with food video contents. I don’t know about you, but I know a number of people who like torturing themselves at 12am watching food videos (that’s me). So if you’re posting food content, you know I’ll be hunting down your videos to be consumed at 12am!!
14. Be Creative and Be Yourself, That’s the Best Branding You Can Do!
A lot of people think being professional is the best way, but that kind of feels like you’re constantly communicating with your boss. If you’re target audience are consumers, talk to them like they are your best friend that you’re trying to amuse!
