In this role, Chee Ping (CP) will lead the overall planning, strategising and execution of the expansion to new markets in SEA. Chee Ping, previously the Business Expansion Manager at Huobi, possesses over a decade of experience in market launching with a proven track record of establishing markets across many regions.

To date, Food Market Hub is present in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia. Despite the rapid expansions, the F&B industry has been heavily affected by the pandemic, with lower occupancy rate within premises, restaurants were struggling to stay afloat and were forced to rely on food delivery services as a source of income, CP and his team had to re-strategise.
“We spoke to many vendors and to our surprise, we received many positive sentiments. The food supply was growing rapidly amidst the pandemic.”, CP added. He quickly saw that entering the market by connecting restaurant owners through food suppliers was the way to go. By acquiring food suppliers to onboard Food Market Hub, they are able to acquire restaurant chains to onboard our system, as it simplifies the ordering process for both parties. This strategy has proven worthy in the Malaysian market and has contributed to the success in the launch of the Indonesian market.
